Champagne Alain Bedel Champagne Alain Bedel

Introduction

The history of the Bedel family is firmly anchored in Grand Porteron since the 16th century. Lucien Bedel created his own brand in the ‘50s. Under the impetus of his son, Alain, the wine estate grew from 1 to 7 hectares planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines.

One of the keys to their success is the southerly exposure on the slopes of Grand Porteron overlooking the Marne. The passion of the winemaker is another, which is demonstrated by the way in which they bring out the terroir in all the different stages of production, rational vineyard management, a traditional press, aging on fine lees, bottle aging for three years in their cellars before selling, and manual disgorging. Alain Bedel Champagnes are champagnes of character.
